L.A. Dream Center Attends Phoenix First Assembly’s 33rd Annual Pastors School

This year, Pastor Tommy Barnett hosted his 33rd annual Pastors and Leaders School Conference at Phoenix First Assembly, where people from all over America and the world attend in order to receive godly guidance for their churches’ ministries. The Los Angeles Dream Center brought several buses full of their interns, residents from the discipleship programs, and students from the Movement to Phoenix, Arizona for the three-day Solutionary conference, which was from February 1st to the 3rd.

The Dream Center’s own Pastor Matthew Barnett was a special guest speaker at the conference, and spoke about “Relevant vs. Revolutionary” where he emphasized that "If we seek to be relevant we will fail to be revolutionary." Press Play also introduced their new hit single “NY to LA,” which will be featured on their upcoming album this year. In addition to the impactful services held in the sanctuary, attendees also took elective workshops throughout the day, with classes that focused on pertinent topics such as Business Administration, Children’s Ministry, Church Assimilation, Congregational Care/Leadership Development, Outreach & Evangelism, and Prayer Ministry.

The new Dream Center College, which is set to launch at the Los Angeles campus in September, was also introduced at Pastor’s School, and will give students the opportunity to receive college credit coupled with hands-on experience doing community outreach in the inner city.

One ministry that has been specifically featured at both the Los Angeles and Phoenix Dream Centers has been the outreach to victims of human trafficking. On the second night of the conference, the Phoenix First Assembly theatrical team performed an illustrated sermon entitled “Taken,” which is based off of the human trafficking movie with the same name. However, the performance focused primarily on victims who are taken, not only by human trafficking, but distractions that come up in their personal lives.

The conference ended with Sinbad humoring the church audience with a standup comedy performance, and an evening of worship and prayer at the sacred Prayer Pavilion. It was truly a remarkable time that many leaders will be able to take home with them, starting a Solutionary transformation in their own cities.
