This program provides USDA quality and fresh rescued groceries to over 40,000 people every month. Using 21 sites around inner city Los Angeles, the needs of food insecure populations are met Tuesday through Saturday. The program is especially valuable to young single mothers and working poor families with average annual incomes of just $15,000 for five people. In 2010, this program distributed over 500,000 bags of groceries, a 25 percent increase over the previous year.
